Finally the day arrived, and we were very pleased to have you all in our country and in our school. Our students worked hard the whole week in some activities. First of all the warm up ones to get to know each other. The same day the local authorities from Torrent welcomed them in the Town Hall . The following day they learnt about the main part of our local festival “Fallas” visiting a ” taller fallero” the place where these monuments are built in.

As we wanted them to know as much as possible about our traditions, monuments and style of life, they moved around our city   playing   a gymkhana ( a game where there are a lot of competitions) searching some information exploring some monuments and places of interest.

Later they visited our most important natural park called L’Albufera where they could take a boat trip and taste our famous dish: Paella.

We kept learning together, so the following day they were to the mountain called El Vedat which surroundes our village Torrent, there they had a geocatching activity, divided into groups and having to find some clues using a GPS.

That afternoon they practiced what they had learnt in the “taller fallero” they had visited on Tuesday, and their “ninots” (some plasterboard figures) will be part of our school “falla” this year. Our mobility was nearly to end but, still they had plenty of things to do. The last day they visited the most modern part of Valencia and its emblematic City of Arts and Science. They enjoyed their visit to the Oceanographic because they could spend time with the sea animals. Finally. We had to say good-bye to our foreign friends. We celebrated a farewell party with parents, students, teachers and so on,plenty of food, drink, good music and dance and of course, their attendance certificates. It was nice but, sad at the same time. The Spanish team hopes you had a good time and experience with us and that you enjoyed being together. We did!!!. We hope to see you soon in Romania.
